Just over a year on from the release of their debut EP ‘We Fell From The Top Of The End Of The World‘, Brighton based math-rock four piece edityourhometown have just released their new single ‘Suddenly…Ghosts!!!’, along with a music video for sock puppet lovers, with a second EP expected this year.
Following on from a band reshuffle and self-professed advances in their songwriting, ‘Suddenly…Ghosts!!!’ sees a progression for the band, whilst maintaining their shapeshifting nature. Starting off as an infectious mathy-indie jam, the song delves into spoken word, jazz and is even screamo-esque in parts. A total mash-up of a song, but one in which each part works wonderfully. A blender full of their influences including the likes of Tubelord and The Fall of Troy, with a dash of jazz and that hypnotising flute part. Check out the new single below:
As a live band, the last year has seen them playing energetic shows across the South of England with bands like Tangled Hair, Valerian Swing and Fish Tank. These shows have set them up nicely for the release of this new single, and their follow up EP.
