‘PUT ANOTHER 0 IN YOUR PAYCHECK, ARE YOU DONE DIGGING YOUR GRAVE YET?‘ is how the incredibly infectious new single ‘Cheer Up London‘ from Slaves opens up, and it’s been swimming around in my head for the past couple of weeks.
I’ve been shouting the Slaves name from the rooftops for a while now, and it’s great to see them absolutely blowing up in the UK. Tremendous live, they’re a total powerhouse duo as a band and hilariously funny on the various social media platforms they occupy. Just this week they were in the Radio 1 Live Lounge performing a cover of Skepta’s ‘Shutdown’, they were on Jools Holland last year and they’re even bezzie mates with Robbie Williams like it’s the 90’s. Their new album ‘Are You Satisfied?‘ is out this June and they’re currently on a UK Tour, with most dates being sold out!
Following on from their smash hit video collaborations with Youth Hymns on ‘The Hunter‘ and ‘Feed The Mantaray‘, this time the Tunbridge Wells duo are out on the streets of London looking to inject a bit of fun into people’s lives. There’s even a painfully brief cameo from the brilliant ‘Barry from Eastenders’ dressed up as an Ice Cream man and some Slaves cheerleaders. Check out the video below, and find tour information and how to pre-order the new album here.
