Formed from the ashes of a previous band, Exploder Than You are a really exciting, scrappy math-rock trio from Brighton. They’ve been kicking about for around 12 months, with their first gig in London booked just a month after their formation. Communicating via Email, drummer ‘Weezey‘ admits  “We just sort of hit the ground running and have spent the year writing and putting together the EP and gigging around the south of England.” They’ve been sharing bills with the likes of Axis OfMusketsPatchwork Natives and FVNERALS, and derive influences from all over the shop.

Their debut EP ‘Melon‘ came out this Thursday just gone, ahead of a number of upcoming shows. The five track EP is full of joy. More fun than a night on the white powder (and a hell of a lot cheaper at three quid,) it’s a really infectious bit of kit; an instant grin achiever. Jazzy twiddling guitar work and delightful heartfelt vocals mix in beautifully with frantic riffs and the occasional shouted gang vocals. Produced, mixed and recorded by Forbes Coleman at AudioBeach Studios in Brighton and Hove, the collection of tracks works wonderfully in marking their first year together.
