Last Chance Saloon! Cleft begin to say their farewells, with Birmingham boasting a stacked line-up!

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good night CLEFT

You’ve read it in the papers. You’ve seen the aerial advertising. Your loved ones are all shook up about the news.

Cleft are splitting up.

It’s a total sad one, really. Cleft were one of the first bands I interviewed for Birthday Cake For Breakfast, back on a freezing cold evening in February 2013. As discussed in the interview; I’d caught them a few months prior at Carefully Planned Festival, and I was then on hand to watch them blossom and become total heroes at the beloved ArcTanGent Festival!

Sadly, all good things must come to an end. This means one last tour and a final hurrah in the form of their final album ‘Wrong’ (available for pre-order now!)
The tour tentatively kicked off at the start of April in Leeds for StrangeForms Festival, with the final date coming up back home in Manchester at The Deaf Institute.

Mid-May will see the turbo-prog duo heading Midlands way, appearing at Muthers Studio for Little Cavalier. With it being their last ever Birmingham show; the wonderful folk at Little Cavalier are putting on a banging line-up to send them off!

Joining Cleft on May 14th will be the face-melting talents of Doppelganger and Classically Handsome Brutes, as well as the phenomenal Bearfoot Beware and hometown boys Arbor Lights. Most exciting of all, the duo will be joined on that fateful evening by special guests &U&I! The incredible Brummy trio will be on hand to doff their collective caps for the loveable math-rock duo, with the whole evening coming in at just under a tenner – You’d be daft to miss it! Event details can be found here.

See you in the pit?
