You know that feeling when a band comes along and pretty much takes over your headspace from the moment you hear them? That’s where I’m currently at with Toronto natives Weaves.
Their self-titled debut album, out now through Memphis Industries, is rammed with highly contagious, quirky, off-the-wall jams. To celebrate its release, Weaves have just put up a new video for the stonking ‘Tick’.
The opening track from the new record, Tick is all about those hours we waste chilling in bed when we could be out swimming with dolphins and such. The video, directed by Benjamin Dabu and featuring Canadian comic Chris Locke, sees a chap realising all this in just one listen of the song and trying to cram in as much life experience as he possibly can – which is mostly just wearing a leather jacket, smoking weed and getting a tattoo (the big three!)
Weaves have just announced a new batch of UK shows to sit alongside their UK and EU tour and it’s highly recommended you head out to a show if they play near you. I saw them play with Beach Slang earlier this month and was totally hooked! Full dates here – but before you go and grab a ticket, check out the new video for Tick below!
