Master Of Puppets: Youth Man debut Claymation video for the ferocious ‘Look/Wait’

If you do anything today, be sure to put aside 90 seconds to watch the latest video from Brummy Punk trio Youth Man. The unyielding ‘Look/Wait’ sees aliens abduct Youth Man from Muthers Studio, take them up on their ship and do all manner of experiments upon their persons. A typical rehearsal then? Unsurprisingly, it’s all kinds of brilliant.

Inspiration for the track and subsequent video comes from a dream in which vocalist/guitarist Kaila Whyte was abducted by extra-terrestrials, lovingly created by Birmingham based filmmaker Oliver Jones (he of BetterFeelingFilms, who’ve worked with Birmingham heroes &U&I on previous releases).

The Claymation style harks back to the days of shows like The Gogs and other 90’s VHS classics, unsurprisingly taking a number of months to produce. The gambit certainly paid off, with the blood-spilling, face-melting grotesque nature of the video mingling perfectly with the ferocity of the track, combining to make easily the best video of the year!

Look/Wait is taken from their latest release ‘Wax’, put out through Venn Records earlier this year on a limited edition 12″ on frosted clear wax, with an accompanying booklet full of Polaroids. Pick up a copy of Wax here and catch the rad new video below:
