A late contender for 2016’s album of the year round these parts, Cate Le Bon’s fourth LP ‘Crab Day‘ was a certified winner. Loaded with quirks and abstract thinking, the ten-track album ticked a variety of boxes – some of which we didn’t realise were there.
As well as putting out an AOTY contender, there was also two back-to-back nights at Manchester’s Deaf Institute in mid-December that were a double-dose of unprecedented radness.
Cate is no slouch, mind. Late January will see the Welsh songstress release a follow up to her latest album. The ‘Rock Pool’ EP is out January 27 via Drag City, with the video for its Title Track premiering yesterday via Flood Magazine.
Tripped out and weird as-you-like, it’s exactly what one might expect from Cate these days – but with more waving. Expect the unexpected.
Video credits go to Casey Raymond (who made the, well, wonderful video for ‘Wonderful‘), whilst the hats gets an honourable mention as well (Nice work Delmi Thomas). Cast your eyes over the new video below:
