12 Days Of Alternative Christmas Songs

Christmas. Fucking Christmas, eh?
The Marmite of public holidays, you’ve got one camp who love it (put Birthday Cake For Breakfast firmly in this camp), and then miserable bastards who hate it (possibly you – cheer up, you git) Then you’ve got Religious people, but they’ve got their own problems…

Mince pies, DVD boxsets, getting pissed – It’s bloody great! ‘What about the music?’ I hear you ask? Well of course…

Christmas music is ace. Reuben rightly said Christmas is Awesome – but more on them later…With the Holidays fast approaching, Birthday Cake For Breakfast will count down the 12 best alternative Christmas songs every day up until Christmas. Check out the updates below, and if you’re on Twitter don’t forget to use the hashtag

  1. Hi Andy (did i get that right?)

A friend of yours, Amanda, told me about your blog in Oxfam Music earlier today and i think it’s a fantastic idea. i don’t usually eat breakfast, but if there were a coffee-and-cigarette-flavoured cake, i’d probably eat that.

Anyways, it’s probably too late because you’re well into your 12 Days of Alternative Christmas Songs thingy, but i thought you might like to hear my band’s chrimbo offering. We’re called Heavy Smoke, and our single is called “All I Want for Christmas is Loads of Drugs”.

    Here’s the video:

iTunes/Spotify links are in the vid description. We’re trying to get to 8 billionth place in the xmas charts – 2 days to go so we’re spamming the hell out of anyone we can. This isn’t spam, ofc. It’s sharing. And that’s what Christmas is all about.

cheers if you listen and keep up the awesome work! i’m about to have a gander, but i like what i see so far.

    • Howdy Mr Stab
Cheers for the message – Don’t know an Amanda as far as I’m aware, but I’m glad someone gave you a heads up on the site!

Sadly, you’re correct – it’s too late to get up on the list, but I will pimp the track on Twitter for you guys.

Cheers for reaching out man, liked what I heard!

      Merry Christmas 😉
      Andy

      • I’ve probably gotten something wrong – let’s just say fate led me here! lol
thanks a ton for the Twitter puntage. we use Facebook more than Twitter, but i’ll subscribe nonetheless. And I’ll keep checking out the remaining days.

cheers and likewise on the Merry Christmas! have a good ‘un.

        -G
