Exclusive: Stream the self-titled debut album from Liverpool’s A BURIAL AT SEA

Even though press releases are generally a hyperbole machine to generate enthusiasm, fair play – “post-rock mariachi” pricked up these ears when learning of Liverpool based outfit A BURIAL AT SEA.

Sure enough, a mini two-man horn section making up the numbers adds a little extra flavour to their post-rock stylings to separate them from the pack somewhat – self-describing themselves as ‘the outsiders of the outsiders‘.

Following the release of their debut EP in 2017, the quintet have been shifting up the gears, scoring supports for the likes of Aiming For Enrike, Tangled Hair and Some Became Hollow Tubes (featuring members of Godspeed You! Black Emperor) on top of touring throughout Europe the past few years (allegedly resulting in the hospitalisation of one member!)

For their self-titled full length, the band spent two weeks in Ireland to record with producer extraordinaire Tom Peters (Alpha Male Tea Party). Throughout its 45 minutes, the band dabble in all sorts, taking inspiration from math-rock to hardcore punk to black metal. Ahead of its release tomorrow via Moment Of Collapse Records, we’re chuffed to be streaming the whole darn thing in full. Have at it.
