Lucky Funeral – The first blast of noise from Manchester’s Patty Hearst

Tell you what, as far as band names go, Patty Hearst are onto a winner.

Sharing the same moniker as the infamous Stockholm syndrome inflicted fugitive, Manchester’s raddest new export are set to release their debut EP next month through the wonderful Super Smash Hit Records. The four-track feel good EP is super energetic, overflowing with huge hooks and heart pounding choruses. It’s a debut with the intention of getting you up on your feet and moving.

Coming in at just over 10 minutes, it’s a total blast from start to finish. Infectious aint the word; if you’ve not got a huge smile etched on your face during the closing seconds of the terrific closer ‘Bath Water’, i’d suggest going back to the beginning to start again.
As it’s coming out on cassette, you can even do that with a pencil like the old days. Rad!

To coincide with the release of the EP, Super Smash Hit Records are putting on a party on March 18th in Fallowfield! Fallow Cafe will be hosting the extravaganza, with a performance from Patty Hearst and DJ sets from Violent Femmes and the SSH cru till the early hours. Support are still to be confirmed, so keep an eye on the event page here.
