Exclusive: Newcastle’s BALLPEEN reveal new video for ‘No Mark’

Off the back of a number of releases on Serial Bowl Records, Newcastle power trio Ballpeen have got a new record on the way this week in the form of ‘Pachinko’ (via Cruel Nature Records)!

Whilst they made their live debut in 2017, its three members – Adam Gowland, Rory Rickford and Graham Thompson – have been knocking about separately for years in a number of notable North East bands, including Tide Of Iron, Grace, Jinn and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaind. In Ballpeen, the three have teamed up to capture the energy of their live performances and lean heavy on loud.

New single No Markis quite the statement, thundering into being and absolutely caning your ear cavities for a thrilling, energetic 60 seconds, culminating in a roar of ‘I’LL LEAVE NO MARK!’ Suitably enthused and wanting more, Ballpeen oblige and hammer away in crushing fashion for its remaining two minutes. The minimalist video features a number of variations on the records artwork from James Watts, which you can see for yourself via our exclusive stream of it below!

Pachinko‘ was recorded at the Lockup in Hartlepool and the Shoe Tree Cafe and Off Quay Buildings in Newcastle upon Tyne, with production duties dealt with by Graham Thompson. Out on cassette and digital download via Cruel Nature Records on June 19th 2020, we’d like to point you in the direction of pre-orders here!
